Mr. Stella, our assistant principal, shaved his head on Saturday, March 19th, to raise money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, which supports pediatric cancer research. Honoring our own Maddy Lewinger, a Kindergarten student in Mrs. Skop's class, Mr. Stella, thanks to the generosity of the WSS Community, raised $2400 for the cause. Maddy's team, Brave and Strong, which included her dad and brother, Jack, who is also a student at WSS, raised more than $13,000. You are all our heroes! Enjoy this video of the day's events

Thank you to Maddy and the Lewinger's for including me in such a wonderful event! It was my honor to be part of team Brave & Strong. The event was an incredible learning experience for the students of WSS, my own children, and myself.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to putting together a team of WSS students, parents, and staff members next year to participate in such a worthy cause.
-Mr. Stella
Of course, as a parent, this brought tears to my eyes. Way to go, Mr. Stella - you are a great person in so many ways. It is a great priviledge to be associated with WSS in general, but especially this year. It is a gift to have my daughter, Carissa, in Maddy and Jack's class. It is a wonderful honor to know the Lewinger's. We pray for them and wish all good things for their family in the future.
