On Monday, November 15th, Mrs. Drosman's 6th grade class spent the morning at Stop & Shop supermarket in West Hempstead. They were there to shop for a good cause. After raising $300 through a class recycling initiative, a car wash sponsored by two students in the class, and donations from their families, students went shopping for items to fill the Thanksgiving tables of those in need. Items purchased were donated to The Sienna Outreach Center and will be given to local families in need. Mrs. Drosman and her class continue to demonstrate that it's always "Cool to Care!"
I think it was a great idea to buy a full Thanksgiving meal for a needy family in the area. I really hope we get to do something like that again sometime.
