Celebrations at WSS
On Friday, May 6th, two special events happened at Washington Street School. England has William and Kate, but Washington Street has their own royal couple. At 2 pm, in the courtyard, the long awaited marriage of "Mr. Q" and "Miss U" took place. On the same day, first grade students in 1Petrancosta/Rudolph celebrated Mothers' Day with an afternoon tea party. Both events were a celebration of the wonderful community that we have at WSS. Happy Mothers' Day to all the special women who are a part of our community!

Heroes at WSS
Mr. Stella, our assistant principal, shaved his head on Saturday, March 19th, to raise money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, which supports pediatric cancer research. Honoring our own Maddy Lewinger, a Kindergarten student in Mrs. Skop's class, Mr. Stella, thanks to the generosity of the WSS Community, raised $2400 for the cause. Maddy's team, Brave and Strong, which included her dad and brother, Jack, who is also a student at WSS, raised more than $13,000. You are all our heroes! Enjoy this video of the day's events

Washington Street School Blood Drive
Once again the Washington Street School Community, led by our 5th grade students, showed that they can come together to "give the gift of life!" On Tuesday, January 18th, Washington Street School held its annual Blood Drive. An amazing 128 pints of blood were donated on that day. Special thank you to Mrs. Brady for organizing the event!
